There has been good progress in airport transfer standards recently both by the major Tour Operators and local taxi companies. Gradually all the old stock of vehicles is being phased out and EU regulations are ensuring much newer and officially licensed transport is used.

In the major tourist centres between hotels and town centres modern regularly scheduled buses are well used, but there is still much to do to connect many of the rural towns and villages by regular public transport.

All the major international and local car hire companies are well represented in Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca and Nicosia, and at the airports.
